Experiences of University Professors Studying for a Doctoral Degree in the Mexican Context

Aim/Purpose: To understand the experiences of full-time university professors at a Mexican who are pursuing doctoral degree, this study seeks to describe students also professors. The focuses on intentions, experiences, and prospects regarding decision for doctorate as professor. Background: This research has dual background. On one hand, there is institutional interest in establishing an academic professional profile studying decision-making. other researchers conducted maintain deepening knowledge process researcher training. In field educational research, article strengthen almost nil carried out specifically Mexico doctorate, particularly private institutions. Methodology: design based interpretive paradigm, with qualitative approach phenomenological perspective. A semi-structured interview was used explore individual 17 doctorate. Contribution: unique that it explores personal views providing further insight into profiles. Findings: Studying while already belonging ecosystem makes challenges difficulties easier cope with, favoring more positive results. Recommendations Practitioners: foster assertive decision-making among management, recommendations addressed human talent managers, directors, professors, students. Recommendation Researchers: line would be necessary deepen profiles materialization trajectory, have theoretical practical elements training different fields science.
